Manually Installing Mods[edit | edit source]

The easiest way to manage mods is to use the in-game Mod screen located on the Main Menu, which provides an overview, resources, and instructions for modding. Alternatively, you can manually install, which can be faster to manage and download in bulk. Both methods are intercompatible.

Note: Mods on Android are technically possible, but needs an in-depth guide out of the scope of this page. In the meantime, installing mods on android in the following manner is confirmed to work for some mods pre-Android 13. 'Instructions are prior to v25.2': https://itch.io/post/3326531

Now the Android mod installing mechanics from v25.3a onwards is described below.

• Grab the mods you want down below.
• Ensure your save is in the town square whenever updating the selection of mods! Optionally, name the save via the option in the bottom right of the save menu and keep a vanilla and modded save. It is unlikely a modded save will become unstable, but it could influence the stats of your character in a undesirable way.
  • Windows/Linux
    • Navigate to Mods/ from the base folder of Monster Girl Dreams, where you found the game executable.
    • Extract the .zip file for the mod and place its default mod folder (which contains multiple subfolders) into Mods/
  • macOS
    • Right click the MonGirlDreams application, select "Show Package Contents". Navigate to Contents/Resources/autorun/Mods/
    • Extract the .zip file for the mod and place its default mod folder (which contains multiple subfolders) into Mods/
  • Android
    • Navigate to Android/data/monstergirldreams.program/files/, and create the set of folders game/Mods/, now get inside Mods/
    • Extract the .zip file for the mod and place its default mod folder (which contains multiple subfolders) into Mods/
    • Don't worry if the game freezes after taking the first action in-game, it's normal and will unfreeze in a short while (less than half a minute)
• Launch the game!

Manually Removing Mods[edit | edit source]

The easiest way to manage mods is to use the in-game Mod screen located on the Main Menu, which provides an overview, resources, and instructions for modding. Alternatively, you can manually install, which can be faster to manage and download in bulk. Both methods are intercompatible.

• You have two choices! Disabling a mod, or, actually removing a mod. Additionally, your modded save is safe to play after uninstalling a mod, provided you load in from the town square.
  • Disabling Mods
    • Ensure your save is in the town square whenever updating the selection of mods!
    • Rename the mod in game/Mods/ to start with an _underscore. Such as "_ModExample"
    • To re-enable, simply rename the mod to not have the _underscore at the front.
  • Removing Mods
    • Ensure your save is in the town square whenever updating the selection of mods!
    • Simply delete the mod in game/Mods/

To add your mod to the wiki, enter the name of your mod after Mod: in the below text field, and press Make Mod Page to begin. It will come preloaded with a template and an example at the top of the page. Once you're done, the wiki will automatically add it to the list of mods for you.
